HOT GEAR Solid State Logic SSL2 & SSL2+ Personal Studio Audio Interfaces Solid State Logic (SSL) has launched its first dedicated audio inter- faces as part of the new personal studio range: the SSL 2 and SSL 2+. Korg ARP 2600 FS Synthesizer Korg has released the ARP 2600 FS, a full-size replica of the 1970s origi- nal complete with added MIDI and USB connections. But the ARP 2600 goes further with a spring reverb tank and a pair of built-in monitor speakers. Also present is much of the versatility of a vintage modular system, including a ring modulator, lag and voltage processors, an envelope follower, audio preamp, a clock-able switch, noise source, a sample and hold module, signal inverters, an auxiliary mixer, and a set of parallel-wired/multi jacks. Fender Acoustasonic Stratocaster Guitar Fender has added a Stratocaster model to its American Acoustasonic Series. The American-made Acoustasonic Stratocaster features new tone woods and voices with more electric possibilities. Along with three unique electric voices on the selector switch, the guitar also adds new acoustic options, including a short scale and concert body with a slotted headstock. Designed with a fully-hollow body and Fender’s Stringed Instrument Resonance System (SIRS), the American Acousta- sonic Stratocaster is designed to be naturally loud and resonant both on and off stage. This hybrid guitar features an Acoustasonic Noiseless magnetic pickup that delivers a set of Stratocaster-inspired voicings and hum-free Fender electric tone that can be played solo or blended with an acoustic voice to create new sounds. The Fender and Fishman-designed Acoustic Engine powers the Acoustasonic Stratocaster, which provides a new body style and tone wood combinations that enable musicians to curate a unique collection of acoustic and electric voices. The guitar also features a mahogany Stratocaster neck with an ebony fingerboard and thin line body.
