Promark ActiveGrip Coated Drumsticks Promark has expanded its ActiveGrip series of heat-activated coated drumsticks to include the evergreen Classic 7A, 5A, and 5B models. The coating made its debut in 2015 on the Glenn Kotche Active Wave 570. This technology is also now available on the new Stephen Creighton Pipe Band Signature Stick, replacing the need for stick wrap. The technology behind the heat-activated coating makes the ActiveGrip stick tackier as the player’s hands heat up and sweat. This offers a smooth, natural feel instead of the typical rub- bery texture many drummers find uncomfortable and abrasive. The light coating adds almost no weight or diameter to the stick and offers improved grip without sacrificing feel.
