HOT GEAR Audified DW Drum Enhancer Plug-In Audified has released the DW Drum Enhancer, an all-in-one drum processing plug-in created in collaboration with DW Electronics, a brand belonging to Drum Workshop. The DW Drum Enhancer is designed to process the basic drum sound spectrum. It’s meant to eliminate the need for several different plug-ins to gate, compress, and EQ by simplifying and streamlining the effects processing chain. The DW Drum Enhancer encompasses several EQs and compressors (including a model of classic solid state compressor circuits). When working with the plug-in, users can choose their desired drum type settings using the 12-position selector that includes three types of drums (snare, kick, and toms), each with three variations (modern, heavy, and vintage). The remaining three positions are arranged as follows: OH (overheads); Bus, for servicing the whole set (usually in a mix- ing console group); and Room, intended for processing whole drum kits recorded by two microphones. Meanwhile, each selec- tion automatically applies appropriate settings For more information, go to www.shop.audified.com. Tech 21 VT Bass 200 Combo Amp Tech 21 has introduced the VT Bass 200, a 200-W bass combo amp with an all-analog SansAmp pre-amp and Class D power amp. Housed in a portable, lightweight, rear-ported 1x12 cabinet, the VT Bass 200 offers a range of vintage and modern bass tones. Like its pedal predecessors in the SansAmp Character Series, it has a unique, continuously-variable Character control that moves between decades of different voicings. It is designed to alter the entire sonic structure of the sound to achieve distinctive bass amp tones. To offer a wider range of bass amp styles than those in the VT family, there’s a Shift button to alter the frequencies within the Character circuitry. Other controls include Drive to adjust the overall amount of gain and overdrive, similar to when the output of a tube amp is being pushed. The Bite switch activates a presence boost, which tightens up the sound when in distorted settings. Roland DJ-505 Controller Roland has released the DJ-505, a two-channel, four-deck Serato DJ controller that blends the performance capabilities of Serato DJ with the sounds and sequencing of Roland’s TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines. The DJ-505’s portability, pro-grade build, and advanced feature set make it ideal for mobile applications, club DJing, live performance, and production purposes. The built-in 24-bit/48 kHz audio interface and Roland audio conversion for Master and Booth outputs ensure faithful reproduction of audio sources. Balanced XLR outputs let users connect directly to a PA system and monitor their mix via the Booth Outs as well as separate 1/4-in. and 1/8-in. phones jacks. Dedicated Serato DJ controls allow quick creation and triggering of hot cues, loops, TR sounds, sequencer patterns, and samples, plus switching between four Serato decks with the Deck Select button. The DJ-505’s large, low-latency platters provide responsive, lag-free performance that allows for the same style of scratches executed on turntables, and the illuminated outer rings on the jog wheels indicate the status of each deck.
