Music venues and festivals across Canada had best start expanding their stages now as the nine members of The Steady Rebels are headed their way in 2017 . With their 2014 EP , Motion , and their recently released fulllength debut , Common Ground , the Mississauga , ON-based group has quickly garnered a reputation for its supreme musicianship and infectious reggae-inspired songs .
The formation of the group stemmed from an extended hospitalization endured by frontman Sean Feltoe , who used music to assist in his recovery process . Somewhat expectedly , themes of sickness and health dominate the material on Common Ground , yet even in the record ’ s seemingly bleakest lyrical moments , there is a beacon of light that shines through .
Hailing from the nation ’ s capital , Jenna Glatt began her singing career at the young age of eight , when she won her first competition . It was a few months after that fateful win , during a Canada Day celebration on Parliament Hill , that she knew that music was going to play a significant part in her life .
While she is proud to wear the influence of R & B hitmakers like Brandy and others on her sleeve , Glatt is carving out a unique space in the Canadian indie scene . One of the singer ’ s latest singles , “ Drunk and Dreamin ’,” was written in collaboration with New York City producers Kinetics and One Love and has racked up more than 34,000 views on YouTube . This feat can only point to brighter things coming in the very near future .

Hailing from Canada ’ s musically fertile Atlantic coast is Moncton , NB-based multi-instrumentalist Andrew Moore . After having learned the piano at age eight , Moore taught himself to play guitar , eventually going on to earn a degree in guitar performance from the Los Angeles College of Music .
The songs on his debut release , Moth , walk a distinctly fine line between the blues and pop , openly courting both genres with a finely tuned ear for melody that belies Moore ’ s relatively young age . Weaving bluesy guitar riffs with piano duels and enthralling soundscapes , the album makes a compelling case for Moore as a Maritime musician to watch .
