Brett Kissel Plays Sold-Out Drive-in Shows in Edmonton, Regina & Saskatoon Canadian country star Brett Kissel played an incredible eight sold-out drive-in concerts over just two days on June 13 th and 14 th . The shows were held in the parking lot of the River Cree Resort and Casino in Edmonton and raised funds for Food Banks Alberta. He then played three more drive-in concerts in Regina on June 20th and another three in Saskatoon, SK on June 27th. “Absence makes the heart grow fonder and I’ve missed my band,” Kissel said from the stage about his fellow musicians, who were socially-distanced onstage and separated by Plexiglas partitions. “I’m going to soak in this moment for all it’s worth.” Each of the roughly one-hour shows in Edmonton and Regina was played in front of approximately 200 vehicles full of fans who listened to the music from the stage via FM radio, much like at drive-in movie theatres. To show their appreciation, honking horns took the place of shouts and clapping hands. CANADIAN MUSICIAN 15
