SERVICES REQUIRED : Guitar Service Technician – Independent Contractor

SUMMARY : The guitar service technician will provide inspection , evaluation , maintenance and repair services for Yamaha Acoustic and Electric guitars and basses , subject to industry standard methods and service procedures and techniques of the highest order . The Guitar Service Technician will provide services as an independent contractor and not as an employee of Yamaha .

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Utilizing expertise as a subject matter expert in acoustic and electric guitars , determine the specific repair methodology to be utilized to complete Work Orders , including parts to be removed and replaced ; consulting with MI service manager for direction

• Pre-service high value guitars for use by Yamaha Artists ( e . g . setting-up , tuning , cleaning ); with clear communication and full support in the process at all times

• Perform authorized guitar repairs solely in accordance with warranty and non-warranty related work orders provided by Yamaha Canada Music

• Accurately estimate cost of repairs to guitars subject to Work Orders to determine if proper course of action is replacement or repair

• Communicate clearly and professionally with Yamaha Canada Music personnel as required , whether in person or via telephone or email

• Proactively notify Yamaha Canada Music management of issues that could adversely impact the quality of Yamaha products

• Specific Yamaha electronic musical instruments experience preferred

• Current references within the industry are required

This Independent Contractor position – Pro Audio Electronic Musical Instrument Technician is of a part-time nature with negotiable remuneration and hours . Knowledge of customer segments and musical instruments to be represented required – Guitars , Live Sound , Acoustic and Electronic Drums , Paiste Cymbals , Combo Home and Pro Keyboards , Synthesizers , Music Production , and Steinberg Hardware and Software .
