Spaun Drums Xtreme Series Kits
Spaun Drums has introduced its Xtreme Series drum kits . The Xtreme Series is designed for speed , punch , and articulation specifically for extreme and speed metal drummers who play fast and need good definition .
The shell design is 100 per cent maple . One quarter of the shell is 16-ply on the batter side , with the remainder being eight-ply , giving more attack and volume on the initial note while the added mass reduces some of the sustain . The bearing edge design on the batter side is a 30-degree cut on the inside with a round over on the outside . This promotes attack and cut with the round over keeping the sustain more controlled . On the resonant side of the drum , there is a full round over which puts more drum head on the shell and shortens the sustain .
Spaun ’ s initial offering includes five different shell packs in a black satin lacquer finish with or without mirror chrome striping .

Blue Bottle Mic Locker
Blue Microphones has released the Bottle Mic Locker . It combines Blue ’ s flagship Bottle microphone with a variable sensitivity power supply and four of the company ’ s interchangeable classic capsules . The Bottle Mic Locker gives access to a palette of recording possibilities for any vocal or instrument type and comes housed in a custom laser-cut SKB hard shell case .
The foundation of the Bottle Mic Locker is Blue ’ s Bottle , a fully discrete Class A tube circuit powered by a hand-selected EF86 pentode vacuum tube in triode mode for warmth , saturation , and headroom . The Bottle Mic Locker includes four hot-swappable Bottle Caps , each delivering its own sonic quality . The B0 Bottle Cap is designed for silky , extended presence ; the B6 is designed for classic warmth and larger sound ; the B7 is designed for vintage detailed mids with airy presence ; and the B8 is designed for clear sound with lots of detail .
