FXpansion Geist2 Beat Production System
FXpansion has released the Geist2 sound sculpting and beat production system with streamlined sample manipulation , arrangement , and modulation capabilities for accelerated workflow .
Geist2 is an advanced step-sequencer and sample -based drum machine . It offers an ergonomic way to build beats and is equally well suited to work with a wide range of music material . Grooves and rhythms can be performed and programmed quicker than in the original version of Geist due to its redesigned , resizable interface .
Geist2 is also equally capable as a triggered sample player , loop machine , performance beatbox , production system , or all these at once . For slicing longer loops , the Slicer combined with up to 64 pads allows for fast , non destructive chopping of beats with automatic pattern extraction . When capturing samples with Geist2 ’ s Sampler , whether working with multiple loops or threshold -based single hits , the integrated browser and ability to record directly to the pads allows users to create custom kits .

Nord Drum 3P Modeling Percussion Synthesizer
Nord has launched the Nord Drum 3P modeling percussion synthesizer , which builds on the capabilities of the Nord Drum 2 . New features include reverb and delay effects , a simplified sound selection mode , and new sound banks for creating custom kits on the fly .
The Nord Drum 3P features an integrated super responsive multipad and external kick input and weighs less than 4.4 lbs . The global stereo reverb and delay effects let users add a new dimension to their drum sounds and the effect amount is adjustable for each drum channel . The new Sound Select feature lets users browse a wide selection of drum sounds , which are assigned to each pad individually .
The new factory sound bank features 10 categories of preset sounds that can be assigned to any of the six pads / channels . The categories include kicks , snares , toms , percussion , bells , tuned , effects , cymbals , hi-hats , and claps .

Sabian HH Vanguard Cymbals
Sabian has added Vanguard cymbals to its Remastered HH line . Like all HH cymbals , Vanguard models are fully hand hammered but employ pinpoint lathing rather than traditional lathing . Also , Vanguard cymbals are thinner and lighter , with smaller bells and extended profiles overall . They are designed to produce a clean , woody stick definition with improved articulation for light cymbals .
The Vanguard HH cymbals come in 16- or 18-in . models for immediate responses , or the 20- , 21- , or 22-in . models for less overall wash . The 14-in . Vanguard Hats are designed to deliver smooth transition from a fat , meaty foot “ chick ” to a dry closed stick sound . They are completely raw on the bottoms and lathed only on the outer 2-in . area of the tops , lined the rest of the way to the cup .
