Hal Leonard Distributes Masks and Shields to Fight COVID-19 Hal Leonard has acquired exclusive distribution rights to new products that make music spaces safer for combatting the COVID-19 virus . The masks and shields are targeted to schools and studio settings but can also be used in churches , community theatres , fitness centres , and other places where people use audio or music to practice , perform , and record .
Hal Leonard partnered with Gibraltar to produce two new sound and virus shields . The three-panel Acrylic Lesson Room Divider is for smaller rooms to separate a teacher and student or can be used in bigger rooms where more separation is needed . The Music Stand Shield is designed so it can sit on the shelf of any standard , sturdy music stand , turning it into a portable clear shield .
Hal Leonard is also now distributing the CapN Shield Clear Plastic Face Shield , which slides onto the brim of any baseball cap or visor to give the wearer protection . When used for singing , the shield also serves as a reflection monitor . As well , the Singers ’ Mask is a professional cloth face mask made by Broadway professionals for the Broadway community . These are designed to keep the cloth well off the singer ’ s mouth and features side vents to improve air flow .

Nearly 700 Venues Support Day of Visibility for the Live Event Community On the evening of Sept . 22 , 2020 , nearly 700 venues and landmarks across Canada were lit red as part of a Day of Visibility for the country ’ s thousands of live event workers who ’ ve lost their livelihoods due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic .
The initiative was led by Live Event Community , an organization launched in March 2020 to support and share resources with live event professionals . Participants and supporters were encouraged to use the hashtags # LightUpLive and # EclaironsLesScenes when sharing photos and videos of red exteriors , and over the course of the evening , those posts generated 16 million unique impressions .
Additionally , Styx frontman Lawrence Gowan lent his support and performed as part of a livestreamed finale to underscore the importance of live events to the country ’ s cultural and economic fabric while Rush bassist / vocalist Geddy Lee also shared a video supporting the initiative .
Participating venues and landmarks included the CN Tower , Calgary Tower , Niagara Falls , Rogers Arena , Roy Thomson Hall , the Grand Théâtre de Québec , Confederation Centre of the Arts , SaskTel Centre , Stratford Festival Theatre , Royal Theatre Victoria , and many more .
