Prolight + Sound 2021 Cancelled Messe Frankfurt has decided , following close consultation with its customers and partners , to cancel the Prolight + Sound show planned for April 2021 .
The organizers say that since the annual spring event is essential for the trend-based order cycles in the entertainment , technology , consumer goods , and textile industries , it means that postponing these events until the second half of the year would not serve the interests of exhibitors . As a result of the current situation and ongoing travel restrictions , exhibitors are faced with huge uncertainties regarding who will be allowed to be present and their customer contacts , making it extremely difficult to commit to trade fair participation .
“ The coronavirus pandemic has taken centre-stage , and our plans have not escaped its impact . In light of the current situation , it would not be possible for us to satisfy our customers ’ requirements for international trade fairs in April or May ,” says Detlef Braun , member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt .
Due to the fact that physical events are not possible , Messe Frankfurt has created numerous digital offerings for its customers . Consumer Goods Digital Day on April 20 , 2021 , for example , offer customers the opportunity to get together at a digital location where they can engage in dialogue and obtain information .
As of press time , Messe Frankfurt is still expecting to hold its MI-focused Musikmesse trade fair as planned from Oct . 22-24 , 2021 . Prolight + Sound is slated to go ahead next year from April 26-29 , 2022 .

Cosmo Music & Efkay Partner to Create New Multi-Service MI Company , Launch Music Canadian music instrument distributor , Efkay Musical Instruments Ltd ., and Richmond Hill , ON-based music retail superstore Cosmo Music have announced a new alliance in the creation of Launch Music — a new logistics , distribution , and marketing company serving Canadian music products dealers and global MI brands with an array of music industry-based services .
Launch Music is located on Cosmo Music ’ s current Richmond Hill campus in the Greater Toronto Area . In combination with Efkay ’ s current listing of distributed MI brands , Launch Music says it will start complementing its newly-acquired portfolio with several new partnerships still to be announced .
Efkay , which was founded in 1956 , has been fully acquired by Launch Music on behalf of Cosmo Music and will no longer exist in its previous form .
