Avid Names Jeff Rosica as New CEO to Replace Louis Hernandez Jr. Avid’s board of directors has appointed Jeff Rosica as CEO of the company. This comes after the board terminated former CEO Louis Hernandez Jr. due to unspecified violations of company policies related to workplace conduct. Hernandez has also resigned from his position on the Avid board of directors, with Nancy Hawthorne since being elected chairman. Rosica, who joined Avid in early 2013, has more than 30 years’ experience in broadcast, media, and entertainment. Prior to his role as president and CEO, he served as senior VP and chief sales and market- ing officer for the company. A 20-year veteran of the industry, Kano has been with JAM Industries since 2007. Originally brought on to service Western Canada as a rep for Korg Canada, he went on to also represent Erikson Music and eventually Coast Music. Since 2014, Kano has been exclusively working with Coast Music and, since December 2016, has been acting VP for the division alongside long-standing Senior VP Manuel Senra. Kano and his management team han- dle day-to-day operations for Coast Music and its brands, including Jupiter, Dunlop, Kala, Zildjian, Vic Firth, Hohner, and Profile. “It’s been a fantastic journey so far and a big thank you to all the wonderful people I’ve met, including all the dealers in Canada, many who I consider to be dear friends,” says Kano. “I look forward to servicing the needs of our customers for many more years to come.
