Details Emerging for Summer NAMM 2018
Summer NAMM will return to Nashville , TN ’ s Music City Center from June 28-30 , 2018 . This year , Summer NAMM will be bringing back signature events while introducing some new additions designed for professional development and success .
More than 14,000 registrants from approximately 40 countries will attend and see more than 1,600 brands represented on the show floor , including an expansion of pro audio exhibitors in Hall C .
NAMM will offer many networking events throughout the show and this year , expanded lobby areas and a new food and beverage station in front of Hall D will make it easier to network during downtime .
Retail Boot Camp , NAMM ’ s flagship intensive retail training program , will transform into the Retail Training Summit , offering six tracks instead of two and covering a comprehensive set of subjects led by industry experts . The Advanced Audio Applications Exchange ( A3E ) will return with the Future of Audio Summit . Attendees can meet the pioneers in music , technology , computer science , and manufacturing . The Idea Center and TEC Tracks sessions will return to the show floor , offering easily digestible industry tips , tricks , and how-tos every half hour delivered from industry peers . There will also be the NAMM U Breakfast Sessions to provide big ideas and big picture strategies , led by industry luminaries .
Popular events will be returning like the NAMM Opening Night Party coupled with the American Eagle Awards honouring music legends . The Top 100 Dealer Awards honour the industry ’ s standout retailers and the all-new Music Making Experience will happen on the Saturday of the show , which will be open to industry professionals in the Nashville and surrounding areas and feature access to the show floor , live entertainment , food , interactive experiences , partner events , and more .

Yorkville Sound Hires New Marketing & Communications Manager
Yorkville Sound has hired James Greenspan as its new marketing and communications manager . Reporting to the VP of Sales and Marketing , Jeff Cowling , Greenspan ’ s responsibilities include developing strategic digital initiatives , public relations , enhancing Yorkville ’ s brand internationally , and generating trade-specific marketing material while aiding in Yorkville ’ s overall comprehensive strategy .
Before joining Yorkville Sound , Greenspan worked in various marketing , retail , and communications roles , developing soundtracks , artist retrospectives , and managing the Canadian catalogues of legacy artists in positions at Toronto ’ s Hard Rock Cafe , Sony Music Canada , and eOne Entertainment .

Buffet Crampon USA has announced the appointment of Jack Dring as division manager for Canada .
Dring will be the company ’ s first division manager living in Canada in over 12 years . Based in Toronto , his responsibilities will include working with music retailers , educators , and artists throughout the country to

Line 6 Renamed as Yamaha Changes Guitar Business Strategy
Yamaha Corporation has changed the corporate name of its U . S . wholly-owned subsidiary for guitar and peripheral products manufacturing and sales , Line 6 , Inc ., to Yamaha Guitar Group , Inc . ( YGG ). Its products will still carry the Line 6 brand .
YGG will be based in the U . S . and responsible for strategy formulation and implementation for the guitar businesses of both the Yamaha and Line 6 brands , and will begin planning , engineering , and marketing guitars and related products for both brands .
Line 6 Founder Marcus Ryle is now co-president of YGG along with Shoji Mita . Regarding this change in strategy , Mita says , “ We are enthusiastic about bringing this multi-brand entity together under one organizational roof . This will better enable employees to take a customer-driven approach to how both brands develop products and serve their customers .” He went on to add , “ The new organizational entity will also be better positioned for more efficient sales operations , supply chain management , manufacturing , and logistics with our business partners .”
