Steinberg Dorico Score Writer
Software
Steinberg Media Technologies has released the first iteration
of its Dorico score writer software, which has been in
development for four years.
Designed for aspiring and professional composers,
arrangers, music publishers, and music teachers, Dorico
offers an uncluttered single-window user interface for both
laptops and studio machines, comprising tools and page
layout options that facilitate an efficient workflow.
Dorico takes advantage of 64-bit multi-core processors to
ensure seamless scrolling through the music at all times. It
has been designed with high-pixel density, high-resolution
displays in mind. Powerful score management features are
included to handle multiple independent pieces of music
within the same project. Based on Steinberg’s audio engine,
Dorico comes with a host of VST instruments and effects.

Gibson SG Standard 2017 T
Gibson has released the SG Standard 2017 T, which
features a blend of vintage looks and tone and
contemporary versatility.
It features the asymmetrical double-horned body
styling and smaller teardrop pickguard that the SGs are
known for and which hark back to the originals of the early
1960s. There are also the Classic 57 and 57+ humbuckers
that likewise create the vintage PAF tones. The SG Standard
2017 T also features locking Grover kidney-button tuners, a
slim taper neck, rosewood fingerboard with rolled binding,
and Gibson’s aluminum Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar
tailpiece with chrome plating.
Other features include a solid mahogany body and
neck, Tektoid nut, and 22 polished frets. There are two
volume and two tone knobs and one toggle switch.

Aldo Mazza has released his latest booked entitled Cuban
Rhythms for Percussion & Drumset – The Essentials. It is a
condensed study of the most popular rhythms and dances
of Cuba.
From basic grooves and rhythmic structures to ensemble
orchestrations of traditional Cuban percussion, the book
sheds new light on Cuban music. Packaged with a DVD-ROM
containing 75 play-along audio tracks and 30 video clips,
this book equips percussionists with the necessary tools to
start playing Cuban rhythms.
