G1-EQ-5E and 6 x 14-in. G1-EQ-6E. The EQlipse Dual Apex snares provide two distinct bearing edges: a double 45-degree edge for a bright, contemporary sound and a rounded edge for a traditional, dark vintage tone. The aluminum Tone Belt acts as a structural brace, removing tension from the wood shell. Inside the Tone Belt is a ceramic-coated maple ring, which amplifies transient high-end frequencies. These features give the EQlipse its multi-shell character. In addition, the snares sport both silver and bronze non-spiral snare wires. Increased contact with the snare head produces power and projection beyond that of ordinary snares. To change the bearing edge, the user just removes the batter head, flips over the Apex Ring, and puts the head back on.
