CASE STUDY 1:
My first two case studies (Spring 2016) were The Canopy Growth Corporation and The Tinley Beverage Company. In this month’s US edition, I revisited The Canopy Growth Corporation so it seems only fitting to revisit The Tinley Beverage Company (CSE:TNY; OTC:QRSRF).
When TNY was a case study, they were just perfecting Hemplify, their flagship CBD beverage. Indeed, it was truly a start-up and the $0.035 share price reflected that fact. Over the following few months, they launched Hemplify and the reviews of the beverage that I saw have been nothing less than sensational. The share price reached a high of $0.67 in November for a staggering 1814% ROI in less than six months. As with the majority of the sector, the share price retreated and an earlier private placement priced at $0.17 per unit also adversely affected the share price. The current share price of $0.265 still represents an impressive 657% ROI in little over a year for those that purchased when my case study was published. Significant events since August 2016 follow:
- Distribution agreement with SF Pipes, a sales and distribution company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. SF Pipes has been acting as a master distributor for the "head" and smoke shop channel.
- Closed $2.75M Private Placement and recently announced a cash balance of $4 million due to subsequent warrant exercises and revenue.
- Distribution agreement with LA Distributing Company for Hemplify in premium health channels; this quickly led to placement in premier LA retail chains including Bristol Farms, Lazy Acres, Erewhon and select Sprouts and 7-Eleven stores.
- Opened a California Cannabis Collective for its Tinley ’27 and other Cannabis infused beverages under California's medical cannabis program.
- Launched its Cannabis infused beverages at the Cannabis Cup (Apr 2017).
- Released “Tinley Tonics” hemp extract squeeze supplement, which is a creamy chocolate CBD mix can be used in coffees, shakes, deserts or on its own.
- Announced that it has begun work towards permitting under California’s Medical and Adult Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA).
