Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre (NMC) is more
than a museum. This 160,000 square-foot international hub
for music in Canada features five floors of exhibitions, four
Canadian music halls of fame, and multiple performance
spaces where visitors can see live music and special events.
Snap photos of the building’s stunning, award-winning
architecture inspired by instrument cases and the Western
Canadian landscape. Or rock out to interactive, hands-on
activities that allow you to play the guitar, bang the drums,
mix a track, or sing along in a vocal booth. Follow along on a
guided tour and hear a demo on the famed Kimball Theatre
Organ. New temporary exhibitions celebrating Canadian
icons open regularly. Daily concerts are held at the restored,
legendary King Eddy live music venue, bar and restaurant,
showcasing a menu of Southern soul food-inspired classics.
Special “backstage” pass tours are also available, allowing
music fans to go deeper into Studio Bell’s artist spaces, world-
class recording facilities, and NMC’s vast collection. Get a
behind-the-scenes look at notable artefacts that span 450
