Frontiers North’s Tundra Buggy® Lodge, located in the heart of polar bear country,
offers a unique, immersive experience where guests can fall asleep and wake up with
polar bears right outside their window. On a clear night, the northern lights dazzle
above, unhindered by the lights of town. The lodge consists of two accommodation
units, a lounge with Internet access and a dining unit where guests can share stories
and enjoy the delicious regional cuisine. Evenings at the Lodge include presentations
from Polar Bears International representatives. Daily Tundra Buggy excursions, led
by a knowledgeable guide, allow guests to explore the area beyond the lodge and
offer plenty of photography opportunities. Tundra Buggy Lodge departures run from
October through November. The Churchill Town and Tundra experience is a hotel-based adventure that includes
plenty of time to experience wildlife. Spend time getting to know the wondrous charm
of the town of Churchill, while also enjoying time on the tundra to view majestic polar
bears and other subarctic wildlife in their natural environment. While in town, visit
the locally owned shops, learn about the history and culture of the area or take part
in an exhilarating dog sledding program in Manitoba’s beautiful boreal forest. You will
enjoy full day Tundra Buggy® excursions in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area,
where polar bears and other subarctic wildlife are most concentrated and active. This

Frontiers North’s Big Five Safari
Experience summer in Canada’s North on an incredible wildlife adventure in Churchill,
Manitoba. During July and August, thousands of beluga whales migrate into the
Churchill River, and the surrounding landscape erupts into colourful blooms. Enjoy
the fresh summer air and dip your toes in the Hudson Bay! Visit Churchill’s eclectic
shops, enjoy the local and regional cuisine and learn about the culture and history
of the area on a tour of Prince of Wales Fort National Historic Site. Get up close with
playful and curious beluga whales on a boat tour in the river estuary. Then, explore the
Churchill Wildlife Management Area on a Tundra Buggy® excursion – you may even
get to see the first of the summer polar bears as they return from the sea ice! This
summer adventure departs from July through August. Frontiers North’s Big Five Safari is a nod to the incredible array of megafauna that
populates the beautiful province of Manitoba. The journey begins in Winnipeg, the
geographic centre of North America. From here, travel overland to the beautiful boreal
forests and sloping meadows of Riding Mountain National Park, where you will take
daily wildlife safaris in search of moose, black bears and bison. After enjoying the
landscape of Manitoba’s southern plains, travel north to the tundra town of Churchill,
where you will seek out polar bears and beluga whales. Board a Tundra Buggy®
and travel overland into the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, where polar bear
populations are highest. Then float along the Churchill River with melodic beluga
whales by boat. This classic Manitoba wildlife tour departs in August.
