PRIMARY ENGINEER

Ayrshire College and McLaughlin & Harvey visited a number
of East Ayrshire primary schools to promote STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Maths).
OUTSTANDING
ACHIEVEMENT
This month’s Outstanding
Achievement award goes to
Mick Rawdon for his
continuous positive attitude
towards health and safety on site.
They are assisting pupils who are taking part in the Primary
Engineer Programme with their projects, including building an
electric car.
EAST AYRSHIRE
EMPLOYMENT FAIR
McLaughlin & Harvey, along with subcontractors Stothers,
attended the East Ayrshire Employment Fair in the Grand Hall,
Kilmarnock on 20 February.
The event, hosted by Cathy Jamieson MP, was staged in
partnership with Jobcentre Plus, Skills Development Scotland,
East Ayrshire Council and East Ayrshire Council of Voluntary
Organisations. Hundreds came along to meet employers and
training providers and were offered support and help to find a job.
People were advised about employment opportunities available on
the new campus site and were able to submit CVs.
FOOD DRIVE
A food drive held for local East Ayrshire food bank was also held
on site.
FUNDRAISING
McLaughlin & Harvey presented a cheque for £830 to NHS
Ayrshire and Arran’s Breast Care Fund.
Staff at the new build site hosted a Wear it Pink day. Everyone,
including subcontractors, got into the spirit and sported pink hard
hats, pink hi-vis vests and even pink tutus. There was also a raffle
and bake sale.
