We interviewed Brad Johnstone, the College’s ICT Manager regarding
the progress they’ve made on all digital aspects of the new campus
What has been the ICT
team involvement in the
new campus development?
In the very early stages we
supported the college in the
responses from the bidders.
After that we proposed and
procured a state of the art
infrastructure to support the
new campus, as well as the
other Ayrshire campuses.
This has been supported
by myself, Team Leaders
and Directors utilising their
knowledge and skills to
ensure the proposal was fit
for purpose.
How does this project compare
to others you have been
involved with? We have worked
on many projects during our
time at the college but this is by
the far the biggest. There has
been a significant investment in
the infrastructure which required
multiple tenders and the processes
that are required to award. This
project also changes the landscape
and how we as a college look at
our desktop / classroom estate. The
most exciting part for ICT is we will
be in a position to support students
by providing the software they need
no matter where they are in the new
campus, even on their own device.
