We bring people together to help them grow and thrive as individuals. This is as true for campers as it is for staff – and really anyone who finds him or herself involved with camp in some way, shape, or form. As wonderful as the benefits of camp are, it remains true that it becomes more challenging to honor our commitment to cater to each individual’s unique needs as we develop generations of connections. This is the heart of the reason that so many of us have sought out technology: to help us nurture our communities. The tools may get fancier, but we all know it’s the relationships that really matter. At CampMinder, we treasure our community of camps, and CampMinder Magazine is one of the meaningful ways we try to nurture the camp world – through active sharing of thoughts and ideas. Only by working together and helping one another can we continue to elevate the camp industry to new heights. There are plenty of families out there to fill every camp. Through thoughtful collaboration, we are developing the tools and methodologies to not only more effectively spread the word about camp, but also to ensure that you can provide the highest level of service and safety to those who put their trust in you. These days, the question is no longer whether or not your camp employs technology. It’s about which technologies you use and how effectively you leverage them. At CampMinder, we strive to remain at the forefront of technology and business by listening to and working alongside our community. The purpose of this magazine is to help you advance through understanding the creative ways your peers blend technology into the camp experience without taking away from it. I am certain you will find some helpful takeaways as you explore these pages. I sincerely hope you enjoy this magazine as much as we’ve enjoyed working on it.
