arents are often flooded with emotions when first deciding whether or not to send their child to camp. We camp geeks know the decision should be a no-brainer; camp is part of an important path to encourage social growth and peer development – the experience can’t be duplicated. Take us out of the equation, though, and you’ll find that most people are fairly unaware of camp’s long-lasting benefits and have hesitations about sending their “babies” into an unknown world. Day camps offer an option in which children can be challenged to grow through daily experiences and return home at night. Through my consulting at CampMinder, I have learned that this dynamic also presents a unique set of challenges for camp directors.
