Camping In Ontario Update Newsletter June 2019 March 2014

CAMPING IN ONTARIO’S NEWSLETTER UPDATE I hope this issue of Update finds everyone well. With any luck the winter weather will start to back down a bit and allow us to finally get working on the new installations, updates and the general sprucing up we try to get done every year before the season starts. This winter has been a challenge almost from the time most of us closed for the season with high winds, freezing rain and snow that has not stopped and caused severe damage to some of our member campgrounds. On behalf of Camping In Ontario, I would like to wish them all well and hope they are able to weather the storms and recover in time for the season start. It seems to be the trend that a lot of our members haven’t yet returned or are just returning from vacation and have therefore not yet registered for the regional meetings. If you could take a minute and book with the office to let then know you will be attending, they would be grateful. The dates and locations are listed on the registration form in this issue. We are pleased to launch our first-ever online registration as well which makes it convenient to register from anywhere! Please keep in mind that we do have elections in some regions and if that applies to your region, please attend to vote for your representative, or if you would like, let your name stand and have a voice. Regions with open Director position in November are Regions 1, 4, 5/6, 7, 9 and 13A, 13BC. Terms of office end November 2014. The elections are very important to our organization. We need to put in place the people that have the time, drive and knowledge to take Camping In Ontario in the direction that will benefit all our members. This is not as easy as one might think. Many MARCH 2014 times what is best for the organization is not what is good for your own individual business. We need these people to step up and help us move forward. Guida has done an outstanding job filling exhibit spots for our growing list of suppliers. So let’s get out and support our official suppliers while we get ready for the season ahead. We continue to work with our partners to find a solution for the opportunities with septic and the MOE. To that end we are looking at a common method of collecting information. This would allow the information that needs to be collected to be easily understood by all parties and have a buy-in from the MOE. Keep in mind that each location is site-specific and needs its own data to support their position. Further information on this initiative will be available at the Region meetings. I look forward to talking to everyone at the regional meetings and being part of the elections. Please remember to contact the office to join us at the regional meetings. Drive with care.
