Strong Leaders Emerge Counselor in Training Program (CIT) CIT Director: LaVenus Harried • Teens entering grades 9 and 10 Our Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is a skill development camp for those entering 9 th & 10 th grade that would like to experi- ence leadership, staffing and teamwork while enjoying time for social interaction. Our CIT’s will participate in team building, leadership training, and experience a summer they will never forget. CITs must commit to two weeks with the program, and are strongly encouraged to spend all four weeks with us to get the full CIT experience. Each week will focus on a new set of skills and development topics. Our program is cumulative, so the lessons are progressive from 9 th to 10 th Grade. 10 First year CIT Program includes: SECOND year CIT Program includes: Orientation and training Volunteering First-aid/ CPR certifications Diversity training Job preparedness (creating resumes, completing job applications, interview skill training, mock interview with the director) Community service projects Leadership skills and development workshops Team building activities and group projects Practical experience with children Field trips Trip to Kings Dominion Overnight Stipend Participation certificate Helping write camp newsletter Limited training Volunteering Field trips Group assignments at Camp Hilbert Kings Dominion Stipend per session Completion certificate Overnight (optional) Session One: June 17 - June 28 Session Two: July 1 - July 12 (No camp July 4) Cost for two weeks: $400M/$500NM Cost for four weeks: $800M/$1000NM
