TS R A THE Stars to Be: Calling All Directors (4th-8th) Week 4: July 9-13 NEW CAMP! Instructor: Debra Clinton Tell your story through film and video! Join us for an intensive workshop experi- ence where you and your fellow students create an original video /film! From page to screen you will learn how to write, direct, act and produce your own work. Campers will be introduced to all aspects of film making and will be able to share their efforts with family and friends. Full Day: $400M/$450NM Stars to Be (K-4th) Week 2: June 25-29 Instructor: Debra Clinton Welcome to the theater! Learn the basics, rules of the stage, intro to song and dance, how to use a prop, how to say a line. Be introduced to everything it takes to put on a show! Campers will put on a presentation on the last day of camp. There will be a performance at 11:30 a.m. on Friday of this camp. Full Day: $340M/$390NM Half Day: $270M/$320NM Richmond Ballet Camp: Cinderella (K-4th) NEW CAMP! Week 6: July 23-27 Learn how to dance from professionals from the School of Richmond Ballet! This camp emphasizes creativity, coordina- tion, flexibility, and strength. The week concludes with an exciting and informal demonstration for campers’ families and friends. In the practice of appearing like true ballet dancers, campers should wear ballet attire including ballet shoes. Full Day: $360M/$410NM Half Day: $290M/$340NM 18 Mural and Graffiti Works (K-2nd, 3rd-6th) NEW CAMP! Week 2: June 25-29 Instructor: Elizabeth Brown This new camp gives campers the opportu- nity to collaborate on a mural of a famous painting. Several different techniques used to create murals will be explored. A large wall will be created and kids “tag” images and names in a graffiti style. From paint to bottle caps campers will have the opportunity to team up to create amazing works of art. Teamwork and patience are major focuses of this camp as campers will join in groups to accomplish a goal. Full Day: $360M/$410NM Art in Nature (K-2nd, 3rd-6th) Week 5: July 16-20 NEW CAMP! Instructor: Elizabeth Brown Looking at artists like Andy Goldsworthy, Claude Monet, and Eugene Seguy, stu- dents will explore and create art in nature and make art inspired by nature. Camp- ers will explore the ideals of temporary art (outside), rock painting, clay, nature stamping/printing, and nature paintings. Campers will find materials and objects in nature to help direct their imaginative prowess. Full Day: $360M/$410NM mes a G in Bra Championship Chess (K-5th) NEW CAMP! Week 11: August 27-31 Instructor: Championship Chess/Brian Garbero This camp presents a fun way to build chess skills! Studies show that chess improves math, reading and problem-solving skills, and the methods used connect these academic benefits to the classes. Camp includes instruction as well as chess play and guided analysis. Students will also be able to earn achievement cards online outside of class. Full Day: $340M/$390NM Half Day: $270M/$320NM Scienc Techn e & ology Bricks for Kidz: Jedis and Droids (K-5th) NEW CAMP! Week 1: June 18-22 Join us as we travel to a galaxy far, far away! The force awakens in this camp based on the super-popular Star Wars movie franchise. Campers will build many of their favorite designs, including a tie fighter, star fighter, speeder bike and more. We’ll even have fun with jedi masters, wookies, and other characters. Most importantly, kids will connect real science concepts with science fiction! As always, we will have unique LEGO-themed games and activities. Full Day: $340M/$390NM Half Day: $270M/$320NM Bricks 4 Kidz: Extreme Ninjas (K-5th) NEW CAMP! Week 4: July 9-13 Ninjas…GO! There is a new ninja on the block, and he’s ready to fight to defend his honor and establish peace! The team of 5 ninjas all have their own role to play in carrying on the legacy of spectacular ninja skill, self-discipline, courage Fanta sy Wizar & dry World of Wizards NEW CAMP! (3rd-6th) Week 3: July 2-6 (No camp July 4) Calling all wizard fans! This is like no camp you have experienced. We will take a magical journey into the world of wizards and design wands, make magic potions, go on a magical creature hunt, play Quidditch, and participate in activities that will astound all Muggles!
