Camp Hilbert Instructional
and Free Swim
Campers at Camp Hilbert swim twice a day for 45 min-
utes; instructional swim in the morning and free swim
in the afternoon. At the beginning of each week, new
campers will be evaluated and placed with their peers
of the same swimming ability. Our swim lessons follow
the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim levels, the same
that are taught at the Weinstein JCC year-round swim
program. There are six different levels, ranging from in-
troduction to water skills, fundamentals, stroke develop-
ment and improvement to swimming and skill
proficiency. (See page 5 for new information on
swimming for our older campers.)
At the beginning of the 4-week session, campers who are successfully
toilet-trained and 3-years-old will be evaluated and placed with their peers
of the same swimming ability. For many Ganim
swimmers it is their first time in the water. Our
goal is to make every child's experience a positive
one! At Camp Ganim each swimmer will earn a
certificate at the end of each session highlight-
ing their accomplishments and swim level. The
30-minute instructional swim at Camp Ganim is
led by Assistant Aquatics Director and Ganim Swim
Coordinator Myles Phelps, who is an American Red
Cross Water Safety & Lifeguard Instructor and
Certified Pool Operator.

Summer Swim Team
Aquatics at the Weinstein JCC is led by Kelly Johannsen, a Certified Pool and Spa
operator, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, and Water Aerobics Instructor.
Kelly oversees the swim team, camps swimming programs as well as the Weinstein
JCC aquatics staff and facilities.

The Dolphin Club Swim Team provides practice at
Camp Hilbert and Weinstein JCC during the sum-
mer swim league season. There will be practice
offered during the campers instructional swim
period in the morning for campers that are en-
rolled in both Camp Hilbert and the Weinstein JCC
summer swim team. The coaching staff will be on
deck to facilitate the practices. On swim meet days,
we will provide transportation from Camp Hilbert
to the meet with prior consent.
*Swim team members enrolled in Specialty Camps at
the Center will be escorted to their age-appropriate
practice times in the afternoons.

The Dolphin Club swim team has experienced
monumental growth and has been an exciting
time of forming lifelong relationships, while
breaking team records. Our coaching staff would
