In 2008 we felt God tugging at our hearts . We had only been followers of Jesus for a few years when God made it clear to us that he wanted us to sell our home , in a terrible housing market , and move to Grand Rapids . We had no idea of the blessings God had waiting for us . Although it was difficult to move away from friends and family , as well as lose money on our home , we did what God asked us to do . In January 2009 , we traveled to Lowell on a cold , dark and snowy evening to look at yet another house . As we were driving from Grand Blanc to Lowell , we talked about how we felt God had something big He was wanting us to do and we were excited at what that might be . That evening we looked at a few houses but the last house we looked at was instantly the home that God was calling us to . Our realtor thought we were crazy ( people think that a lot ) beto care by Kim Mebert cause the house was cold , dark , very smelly and a disaster . We walked through the house with a dream of what this house could be . It was , in our hearts , the home that God was calling us to . We closed on the house on April 15 , 2009 and parked a motorhome in the driveway so Ryan , my husband , would have somewhere to stay while working on this massive house that was an unlivable disaster .
For the next eight weeks the kids and I stayed at my parents ’ house , where we had been living since we sold our home , while Ryan tirelessly worked during the day , at night , and on weekends renovating the house that God had blessed us with . On June 15 , 2010 we moved into our five bedroom , three bathroom home on five acres and felt like this was the “ something big ” that God had planned for us . It did not take long for us to feel like this was exactly where God wanted us , bringing us to Calvary Church , surrounding us with amazing friends , a wonderful homeschool community and 4H group . It also did not take long for us to feel like God wanted us to do something big for Him yet again . We did
