BEYOND Story
In October, Tom Olsson preached a sermon about “Giving
God our Best.” Scott Faulkner found himself listening to the
sermon and feeling God tug at his heart.
“I’ve read the book of Malachi many times, but through
Tom’s sermon God was speaking to me in a clear and
powerful way. With Grace Beyond, I felt like we as a family
had been dancing around the idea of obedience, but had
yet to be fully obedient.” Scott shared with me.
Days after the sermon, Scott and his wife, Robbin, spent
time in prayer and felt like God was asking them to step
out in faith. They decided to recommit their Grace Beyond
pledge to God and ask for His number rather than their
number.
Scott began seeing God speak through his daily reading
of the Bible. Even though the passages were at that time
chosen at random, the idea of a large increase to their giving came up several times throughout his readings - each
time with an identical number. Was God asking Scott and
his wife to be radically obedient?
