Declaring and Demonstrating God’s Good News
MISSIONS CONFERENCE 2016
As He has in the past, God has been working at Calvary Church recently to
transform us into a body that more fully reflects His heart for the lost.
Here are some highlights:
• We now have a “Mercy and Hospitality” ministry department which,
together with Missions and Outreach, empowers us to love others well.
• We have engaged with the world refugee crisis by sending two teams (so
far) to Lesvos, Greece, and by welcoming and assisting refugee families
settling into the Grand Rapids area.
• We have continued to grow in our vision, as a church and as individuals.
We were able to send 34 young adults to Urbana, a student missions
conference held once every three years.
• Over 40 individuals have been trained in hands-on disciple-making as a
lifestyle. This is the first step toward a church culture where each person
sees themselves playing a key role to fulfill Christ’s great commission.
By celebrating both what God has done through Calvary people in mission and
outreach – bringing the lost into His kingdom – and through Calvary people
extending mercy and hospitality, this special week in the life of our church will
help recognize and grow our ability and calling to love others – those outside
our walls who need to experience and to hear of Jesus’ love.
The events of our Missions Conference week are detailed on the next page.
Join us – expand your heart, extend your hands, and express your faith to a
waiting world!
