The Purpose of Spiritual Gifts
God’s word clearly informs of the purpose of spiritual gifts. Ephesians 4:11-12 states:
“And he gave the apostles, the
prophets, the evangelists, the
shepherds and teachers, to equip the
saints for the work of ministry, for
building up the body of Christ…”
Our spiritual gifts are meant to equip others who
are not as gifted in the same areas, to work in that
area of ministry. For example, those with administrative gifts are to teach those lacking these skills.
And an evangelist should equip people to do the
work of evangelism teaching them how to engage others with the gospel. Equipping includes
