Did you watch any of the Summer Olympic games in Rio? My wife and I enjoyed watching and couldn’t help but be in awe of the capabilities of the human body – the speed of a freestyle swimmer, the balance and agility of a
gymnast, or the power and finesse of a diver. The athletes’ performances were
nothing short of inspiring.
It’s been said that the average Olympic athlete trains thousands of hours in
preparation for the games! Wow, talk about dedication. Thousands of hours
of hard work all in hopes of earning a medal and the glory and pride that accompanies it.
While winning a gold medal and being at the center of the world’s spotlight
does indeed seem like a big deal, its eternal significance may actually be minimal. Perhaps even non-existent. Before you gasp, it’s true that competitive
