Elder Candidates
The selection of elders and deacons will take place by casting of lots at the Annual Meeting on September 17.
Bob Boverhof - Bob and Peggy have
been members at Calvary since 1991.
They have four children and eight
grandchildren. They have been mem-
bers of several Adult Sunday Classes
and belong to a small group. Bob
served on the Men’s Ministry team for
six years, and is active in the Men of
7:24 and the jail ministry. He is a men-
tor for several young men and leads
a Bible Study for new Christians. Bob
is a member of Prison Fellowship
Ministries & Living Water Ministries.
During the past ten years, Bob &
Peggy have ministered to 15 young
men who have lived in their home
through Bethany’s Safe Families
program. Both have volunteered with
Urban Family Ministries and Peggy
currently serves as executive director
at Servants’ Center.
Bruce Bradford- Bruce and Jane have
been members of Calvary Church for
34 years. They have three children,
one of whom is in heaven, and they
have three grandchildren. They are
part of the FLOCK Class, and serve
on the Flock Leadership Team and
the Flock Class Outreach Committee.
Bruce & Jane also serve in the Prayer
Room ministry after church services
and lead a small group. Jane has pre-
viously sung in the Calvary Choir and
is part of Monday Night Bible Study.
Bruce has previously served two
terms at Calvary as an Elder. Bruce is
also involved in the Hands of Jesus
ministry.
Dale McNinch - Dale & Martha have
attended Calvary Church for 20 years.
They have been married 46 years and
have three married adult children and
ten grandchildren. Dale and Martha
have been part of the Calvary music
ministry and Adult Sunday Classes
for many years. Martha has served
in the Apples of Gold ministry and
Women’s Bible Study. Dale has been
co-leader of the Heirs Together
class for seven years. Dale has been
involved with programs at Mel Totter
Ministries and has been on many
short-term mission trips to Honduras
over the last 20 years.
Earl Thomas - Earl has been married
to Judy, his wife and best friend, for
48 years. The have two sons and
seven grandchildren. They have been
attending Calvary for 17 years.
They are part of the Baby Boomers
and Beyond Class where Earl has
been a class leader and has done
some teaching. Judy has been part
of the awesome Calvary Choir for
several years and has been a bible
study leader. Earl has served God as
Director of Men’s Ministry and has
been a part of the Men of 6:10
bible study for several years and
served as the teacher this past year.
He also serves on the Pastor’s Prayer
Partner team.
Scott Tubergen - Scott and Jody have
been married for 20 years and have
four children. Scott and Jody have
been attending Calvary for 25 years.
Through the years they have served
in many areas including children’s
ministry, small group leaders, family
missions, Calvin set up leaders and
several committees. Currently Scott
serves in the jail ministry and as an
usher. Scott also served one term as
a deacon.
Allen VanHaitsma - Allen & Scherlyn
have been at Calvary Church for 24
years. They have been married 48
years, they have three married daugh-
ters, and seven grandchildren, all
who attend Calvary. Allen has served
a small group facilitator, a mentor
in Men’s Leadership Development
Forum, and has served as an elder.
He has served on the Young Adults
Advisory Committee and the Elder/
Deacon Selection Committee.
