Health Guidelines
We follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics which states that a
child should not leave home when any of the
following symptoms are displayed:
• fever, vomiting, diarrhea within the previous
24 hours
• sore throat
• green or yellow discharge from the nose
• any skin infections; pink eye or other eye
infections
• lice
• any unexplained rash
• croup
• any communicable diseases
For the protection of children and team members, fresh paper liners and gloves are required
each instance of changing a diaper.
In the nursery rooms (birth through two-yearolds) all toys that have been mouthed are
placed in a “to be washed” basket.
In the preschool rooms (three- and fouryear-olds) toys are periodically washed and
disinfected.
All rooms are equipped with age appropriate
toys and facilities.
The Children’s Ministry staff provides snacks
that have been approved as being nut-free. In
the nursery, plain Cheerios are provided; in the
preschool area, original Goldfish crackers are
made available to the children; food and nonfood incentives are used in the elementary area.
For a list of these incentives, please
contact our office. If your child requires a
different snack than these due to a food allergy,
please provide a nut-free snack in a sealed,
labeled baggie.
Calvary Church team members do not dispense
medications of any kind including creams, ointments, and lotions. If your child has an EpiPen,
please contact one of the Calvary Church
children’s ministry staff members.

In the case of a medical emergency that is
specific to your child we will locate you using
the information you provided on your child’s
sign-in sheet. For this reason, it is important
that your location is noted on the sign-in sheets

In the case of an emergency involving the
entire building, you will be instructed as to
where and how you may pick up your child.
Emergency procedures are posted in each
