Calvary Kids Newsletter Parent Guide | Page 2

Welcome to Calvary’s Children’s Ministry! In Calvary Kids, our C A LVA RY mission is “guiding children to trust and follow Christ…for the rest of their lives!” We strive to provide a safe, nurturing place for your children while you worship in the sanctuary, and explore small groups. We hope this parent guide will answer some of the questions you may have about our ministry, and explain our policies and procedures. The wellbeing of your children, both spiritual and physical, is our top priority. Our team members are a part of this ministry because they desire to guide children to Christ through a warm and loving environment. We realize we could not function without our team members and we provide them with training and resources to assist them in their roles. All of our team members go through an application process that includes a background check, and they are placed where their gifts, interests, and experien ce will best be used. While Sunday mornings (SS Adventure) and Wednesday evenings (Kids-N-A ction) are the backbone of our ministry, we also host other events during the year including our three-day summer program, CSI: Creative Science Investigators and our Children’s Choir, LUMIN8 (also on Wednesday evenings, before Kids-N-Action). Our goal in all these endeavors is to see kids trust and follow Christ…for the rest of their lives! We can only do this as parents and ministry leaders team together to reach our children. Two ways we do this are our Child Dedication ceremony, in which we encourage parents to write blessings for their children, and our Family Road Map class, which walks parents through refining their long-term vision for their family. Other ministries available to families through Calvary include DC4K— Divorce Care for Kids — for children experiencing the pain of separation and divorce; and Caring Hearts – a ministry of comfort for those families facing medical challenges or disabilities. Calvary Church also offers a Special Needs ministry and we strive to be inclusive within our ministry to children with different abilities. More information is available in this booklet, at the Children’s Ministry check-in desks, at the Information Center at the back of the sanctuary, or on our website, www.calvarygr.com.
