CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT PROCEDURES All elementary children are to be checked in at the desk in Entrance K or M, escorted to their class by a parent or guardian, and are to be checked out by a parent, guardian, or a sibling older than fifth grade, bearing the claim tag that was issued upon check-in. First-time visitors will be issued a temporary nametag . Regular attendees who have been enrolled and entered in the database will receive a three-part nametag upon check-in. The three tags are identical and contain the following information: • child’s name • call number • child’s room number • allergies. The three tags are to be used as follows: • one on the child • one on the sign-in sheet in the child’s class • claim tag to be presented when picking up the child Please inform your child’s teacher of your location for the hour or hours your child will be in Sunday School. This information is necessary in the event we need to locate you. If you are in the Sanctuary or the Chapel, the call number on the claim tag will be displayed on the boxes located at the front of those rooms. If you are somewhere other than the Sanctuary or Chapel, we will use the information on the sign-in sheet to locate you. Serving in Children’s Ministry The effectiveness and success of Calvary’s Children’s Ministry requires hundreds of people contributing numerous skills, gifts, experiences, and interests, at varying levels of involvement. Below is a partial list of the volunteer support that we use on a week-toweek basis. • • • • • • • • • • Caregivers Helpers Small group teacher Large group teacher Team leader Drama Worship Check-in desk Craft coordinator Office/administrative help When planning an event, additional, more specific help is needed. The weekly bulletin, enews, and the Calvary Life magazine list current serving opportunities. All Children’s Ministry team members, regardless of function, go through the minimum screening process of a background check. Team members in a supervisory or teaching role must be members of Calvary Church, and go through a background check, as well as a reference check, and a personal interview with a member of the Children’s Ministry Staff. Applicants must be eleven years old, or in fifth grade if female, and in eighth grade if male. If you are looking for a way to get involved at Calvary Church, and desire a dynamic, fun, and growing ministry, please consider serving. Applications are available at the check-in desks and at calvarygr.org. 15
