Mission Accomplished
This past year in Calvary Kids marked several milestones for our ministry. During our
Wednesday night Kids-N-Action ministry, we focused on the fifth and final chapter of
the book of James, encouraging children to “put your faith into action!” Can it really
be five years since the time we first chose to begin reviewing the book of James and
challenging kids to memorize one chapter a year? Quite a few children joined the
James Gang five consecutive years in a row by completing five serving projects and
memorizing an entire chapter of James, each year, per child. Stop by and see their
poster hanging in our Elementary hallway!
Our children’s choir LUMIN8 provided a well-timed spring concert where they sang
the final chapter of James along with ministry songs being used throughout our
ministry like, “We are little Kids-N-Action!”
Our ministry also began a new phase of ministry on Sunday mornings with a nautical
adventure theme called, “S.S. Adventure” (S.unday S.chool). We loved seeing children
share their testimony each month with Captain Question about how they had made
Christ their Captain at school, at home, at play, and even finding ways to serve others instead of themselves. Children, parents and volunteers alike participated in our
“Book Coins” program to read through books of the Bible. Families reported that this
