The idea of synergy is heard most often in the business world . Synergy is an interaction of elements that , when combined , produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of the contributions of the individual elements . While on his study break in 2015 , God made it clear to Pastor Jim that an improvement was needed in the area of staff cooperation . While much good was being done by individual ministries , there wasn ’ t enough being done to work together and find commonalities across the church .
It ’ s been a little over a year since we began heading down this road , and already we see God answering prayers as we create cooperative ministry initiatives and grow in our communication both with our fellow staff and the congregation .
As we look back at the 2015-2016 ministry year , we want to share how God has been at work through the lens of this new structure . May you be encouraged as you see the ministry of Christ ’ s church in this place refined and deepened .
The hope going into this new staff structure was that grouping ministries together into service teams would offer opportunities to share resources and ideas , to support one another and to promote common goals . By combining individual ministries into teams , we hoped to find synergy - greater ministry taking place together than when on our own .
