New supported workers
We are blessed to report that in this last year we have taken on support of four new missionaries – two commissioned
by Calvary, one a teammate of one of those commissioned, and one who has been on the field for several years.
dan & Teresa janzen
Dan & Teresa
have been
members of
Calvary Church
for a few years,
and made
their interest
in missions
known almost from the beginning.
They went through our missionary
Cross Training program with Pastor
Bruce to prepare for service in
South Sudan where they have
already spent considerable
time. The Janzens will manage
a Christian boarding school and
discipleship training center, as well
as teach agricultural development.
joanna Mangione
Joanna started
attending
Calvary with
her family
when she
was in high school and was
sensing God’s call on her life.
She graduated from Moody Bible
Institute with a degree in TESOL,
Teaching English to Speakers of
Other Languages. Throughout
high school and college, Joanna
participated in many short-term
trips in different areas of the
world. Since 2013, Joanna has
been a full-time missionary with
SOAR International Ministries to
Russia using her skills at English
camps and working with orphans.
Calvary began supporting Joanna
in March 2016.
Jake & Sara tibbe
Jake and
Sara came
to Calvary
Church eight
years ago and
became very
active in many
ministries, as
well as participating in and leading
short-term mission trips. They
also took advantage of Calvary’s
Cross Training program, and, once
they complete language training,
will serve in Papua, a province in
the far east of Indonesia. There,
they will develop a community
center to offer and supervise
after-school activities, to connect
with the community and to share
the gospel of Christ. The Tibbes,
as well as their teammates, the
Lloyds (see right) are with TEAM.
Zac & Leigh Lloyd
Zac & Leigh
met the Tibbes
a few years
ago when
both were at
family camp,
and it became obvious as they
got to know each other that they
shared a similar calling from
the Lord to introduce the love of
Jesus to a predominantly Muslim
people. This first year the Lloyds
and Tibbes are concentrating on
learning the language. Zac & Leigh
are from the Kalamazoo area,
and are commissioned by ReCast
Church.
