The Adult Ministries team also worked together this past year to develop a church-wide training on biblical leadership. It was exciting to walk through this training twice this past year with over 325 people serving in leadership roles at Calvary. We’ve also continued to see Adult Sunday classes available both hours on Sunday morning. They are made up of various size groups of people that meet for fellowship, outreach and to pray for one another. Find a complete list of classes and times at calvarygr.org under Adult Ministries. This is a great way to make new friends and be part of a caring group of people. Older Adults Bruce Huseby, Pastoral Staff, Senior Adults This past year saw great things done in our older adult community, Oasis. Whether it was through our Wednesday Bible Study, Monday Luncheons, activities such as pickleball, biking, golf and a fun retreat we saw God give a great sense of purpose among our Oasis community. One of the best highlights of the year was our USO show. To see our people bring their unbelieving friends was awesome. 2018 also brought about a season of change as Pastor Bruce Huseby increased his role within Senior Adults. Oasis stood for an acronym that now has been replaced with the tag, “Re- freshed to Reach Out”. It reflects a season of change that embodies the desire to continue on the journey towards Christ-likeness. As we continue into the next year we anticipate God continuing to work through this community. This fall the focus will be our identity in Christ. The Wednesday Bible Study will start in Galatians, the focus of our annual retreat is C.S.I. (Christian Seniors Iden- tity) We will again be challenging our community to reach out to those in need of Jesus through our, “Super Sleuth Dinner Theater.” These as well as the consistent programs will prayerfully lead our older adults into a greater role in being Great Commission people with Great Commandment hearts. Serving, First Impressions & Library Rebekah Kennedy, Director of Serving & First Impressions While working through my new position and learning the ministries of the church, I have felt God giving me the words of John the Baptist, “He must increase but I must decrease” (John 3:30). For me, this has meant that over the past year my role has been mainly to support other ministries, more than focusing specifically on Serving, First Impressions and Library. The Serving Ministry has been focused on pulling together some procedures for other ministries to use when working with volunteers. The First Impressions Ministry has focused on supporting and educating our congregation on the ministries within Calvary. When someone visits the Connection Point, whether they have been at Calvary for 2 weeks or 20 years, they can visit to learn how to serve, fellowship, equip or worship. The Library has also been focused on supporting other ministries as well. They have taken recommendations from other ministries on what to offer within the library. The library carries multi-lingual books, books to support CityFest and much more. 14
