men This year in Men’s Ministry we came to focus on three primary areas that we will continue to seek throughout the 2017-2018 ministry year: 1. All men at Calvary would be in awe of God. 2. All men at Calvary would be enthralled by God’s Word 3. All men at Calvary would have an earnest desire to be obedient to God and His Word. It has been a joy to see new men come forward in the ministry with different passions that the Lord has given them. Even outside of current bible studies, men have stepped up to gather those in their work places or in the midst of the congregation to start studies of their own. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 was a highlight for men in our ministry this year. It commands us to be on guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous and strong, doing everything in love. This command is found in the Old Testament as well. Each time it is mentioned it expresses the idea that we are to know God’s Word and be obedient to the Word. Both happen when an individual is in awe of God. In addition, all Christ- followers are commanded to make disciples of all peoples, teaching them all that Christ has commanded them (Matthew 28:16-20). In the life of Moses, we see that even in his old age, he continued to make just one primary disciple, Joshua. Joshua then led his men to do the same after him. As noted above, we see the same instruction from 1 Corinthians 16 in Joshua 1:8-9, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful
