Currently our Calvary Kids Ministry is spread around the building, due to lack of contained space. Traffic issues exist at check-in/check-out. There are also too many exit/entrance points, creating security issues, and limited storage infringes on programming options. Grace Beyond would centralize Children’s Ministry in a new addition built to the northeast of our current Sanctuary. There will be two main entry points, creating a secure destination for parents and kids. CALVARY KIDS Our Student Ministry rooms are at capacity and are poor in quality. We have students meeting everywhere from the Baptistries to locker rooms. Students spend the majority of their time at church away from the centers of worship and community within our building. STUDENTS In the Grace Beyond plan, the Student Ministries area would move to the upper level of the church, adjacent to Sanctuary and Fellowship space. Moving the Student Ministries area to the main level would allow greater opportunities for the inter-generational interaction that helps youth develop lasting bonds with the church body as a whole. We committed to use the money received during our 2011 Extravagant Gift offering to build a permanent prayer garden on our property. It is long past time to fulfill this commitment. This prayer garden will be a place of refuge and a tangible sign of the value we place on prayer and relationship with God. PRAYER GARDEN SANCTUARY Our Sanctuary contains a number of seats with a compromised worship experience due to poor sight lines and audio issues. Currently the Sanctuary is challenging for those with mobility issues to navigate and we have limited handicap accessible seating. As we make improvements to other areas of our building, we want to enhance our Sanctuary so that everyone can worship with limited distractions. CALVARY CHURCH 2013-2014 ANNUAL REPORT | 7
