student ministry staff David Alcook, Cheyenne Boluyt, Aaron Bolduc, Natalie Uecker, Sara Tindall, Lee Bergakker, Byron Dickey God Provided Our God has been incredibly gracious to us in student ministries. We have seen God as our provider as a major theme in many ways. God has provided us with opportunities to help students draw closer to Him and others through community. God’s truth, and challenge each other to live for Christ. Seventh and eighth grade students spent a weekend in Chicago learning the Gospel and sharing their faith with others. Fifth and sixth grade students spent time building relationships during incredible and zany activities. We sought to serve God with our hands, feet and words through two mission trips. All along the way, we have seen God provide for us and have sought to glorify Him. What an amazing God we serve! In middle school, we’ve studied people in the Bible and have discovered something amazing about God in a series called Eureka! We were challenged to surrender everything to Jesus during our 5/6 and 7/8 fall retreats. Fifth and sixth grade students invited their friends to an amazing outreach event. Seventh and eighth invited unchurched friends to an awesome winter camp experience so they might hear and experience the Gospel message together. We met in small groups to care for one another, dig deeper in to This year in high school we had an awesome fall retreat where we saw seven individuals receive Christ as their savior. In UNITED we spent the whole year going through the Sermon on the Mount, God blessed this teaching and many lives were changed by the transformational power of the Word of God. Also our students have started their own student-led evangelism team called “Reach.” They are studying God’s Word together, teaching each other, and taking the Good News of Jesus Christ into the streets of Grand Rapids. “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) 2013-2014 By the Numbers Thirty-two 7th and 8th grade students and leaders traveled over 500 miles to serve, build relationships, and share the Gospel in St. Louis, MO Two students prayed to receive Christ during our ministry event “deep impact.” One student prayed to receive Christ in our 5th and 6th grade ministry and was baptized shortly afterward. Over 250 Popsicles were giving away to show God’s love during our 5th and 6th grade missions trip. Over 200 slices of pizza were consumed during our MSM fall retreats. MSM students had the opportunity to memorize over 25 verses as a part of Wednesday nights. MSM students spent over 800 minutes in small groups being mentored, building relationships, and growing closer to God. MSM students studied people in both the New and Old Testament who discovered something amazing about God this past year. 152 high school students attended the UNITED Fall Retreat. High schoolers on the train, going to missions training in Chicago. 52 high school students went on the high school mission trip to Chicago, and 10 more were on overseas teams.
