worship “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:11 As a worship ministry, it is our privilege to lead our church each week in giving God the glory, honor and praise that He is due. Over this past year we have had two focuses as a ministry, both of which came to be as God worked through the hearts of our people and our leadership. The first focus has been worshipping in unity. For many years our ministry has operated as three in- dependent entities (Choir, Praise Band and Orches- tra) that would overlap on Sunday mornings during the worship service. This past year, however, there has been an intentionality between all three groups to care for each other, pray for each other and love one another in better and deeper ways. There have been countless members of our choir, orchestra and praise team who have been blessed by others in the ministry. Many have received home-cooked meals, hospital visits, gift cards, flowers, cards of encour- agement, lawn care and home maintenance (even a roof!). The blessings are often physical in nature, things, actions or services, but blessings that contin- ue to draw us closer as a ministry of people bound together by a mutual love for the Lord. We hope that we will be more Christ-like to those around us and show His love to those we serve with. The second focus has been on worship itself. Simply put, worship is giving glory and/or adoration. When we worship God we are placing Him above all else. Now, I admit that it is easy to find oneself coming to church and participating in the same tasks, from the same seat, week after week, getting lost in the rou- tine. What sets these times apart from what could be- come a mundane ritual is the work of the Holy Spirit. 8 When we gather together in this place with those who love God and seek to serve Him, He is present with us. As we gather as a
