Thanking God for a Faithful Witness
Four years ago Rudy and Annette Ruzza from Grosse
Pointe Isle, Michigan moved into an apartment about
fifty feet down the hall from Jim and Lee Kingma at
Covenant Village. Rudy was not well, and Jim had
opportunity to share Christ with him before he died.
Lee became a good friend of Annette, who is a very
outgoing person. They talked about Chrisitianity at
times and found Annette was a committed Catholic,
believed in Jesus, but did not seem to know Him per-
sonally. She was very loyal to her religion. Some years
back she had attended a rally and said she received
the Holy Spirit that day. However, her understanding
of the Christian faith and practice seemed lacking.
Lee and Annette continued to talk about her relation-
ship with Jesus and how Annette needed to grow in
her faith. Lee shared that the most important thing
was for her to attend a church where she would be
fed spiritually. As it turned out, Annette’s four chil-
dren all became Christians in their later college years
and two of them had attended Calvary Church.
Three years ago, Lee invited her to share in fellow-
ship and learning God’s Word at Calvary’s Women’s
Bible Study. She had a wonderful year and loved the
study, but still she felt something was missing in her
life.
As Annette grew in her understanding of what Christ
had done for her she realized she needed to make
a personal commitment to Christ. She did and then
desired to be baptized at Calvary. It was the turning
point of her life. All praise goes to Jesus.

Thanking God for OASIS and Calvary
I (Lee) invited Annette to go with me on Wednes-
day morning to OASIS Bible Study. She loved it and
loved Pastor Bruce. He really spoke to her heart and
each week as we drove home together she would
share what she learned, how much she loved Pastor
Bruce, and what the study and pastor meant to her.
She is eager again this year to continue both the OA-
SIS Bible study, Women’s Bible Study on Tuesdays
and helping in the Bible Study at Covenant Village.
Annette has been a fearless witness. She has shared
with me how much Christ means to her now that
she has personally accepted Him as her Savior and
wants others to have this joy also. She realizes many
religious people are blind and are missing the joy she
has. I praise the Lord for leading Annette into my life
and sharing our love for Christ together.
She is a wonderful friend and we both look forward to
OASIS Bible study to grow in our faith and fellowship
this coming year. All praise goes to Jesus.
