Young Adult Staff: Mason Sherrill, Carl Crispin, Natalie Kompik Young Adults This year God called us to serve together as a community of young adults in numerous ways. On Friday evenings, our young adults traveled to a local apartment complex to play sports and outdoor games with the kids. Also, a group of our young adults returned to the Brightmoor neighborhood of Detroit to host a children’s day camp this summer. The children heard teachings on the Ten Commandments and participated in numerous activities which were designed to reinforce the truth they had heard. Through serving together, we were again reminded that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Being involved in the College Ministry this year has shown me what it means to be a part of a caring community. I experienced the care of community when I spent time praying and studying the Bible with fellow students in our Community Groups. I enjoyed the fellowship of others as we ate together and discussed the joys and difficulties of life. Not only have I been blessed, but being a part of the College Ministry gave me the opportunity to serve and care for others as well. As the year went on, it was great to see how God moved in our hearts and began transforming us even more into the people he wants us to be. Our College Ministry became a place of sweet fellowship, carrying one another¹s burdens, and most importantly, glorifying God together. College When thinking about caring for one Close-Up: another, I just don’t Nathan know what to say Johnson because what I did was so simple.  Sue needed someone to give her a ride.  I have tons of free time in the summer and I offered to help her whenever she needed.  We live really close to each other, so it’s not like I am making a huge sacrifice here.   I think that Merge is a community where offers like that are common.  Open offers of help – a phone number and “call me anytime.”    Express a need and people rise to the occasion.  We have to be this way because, like it has been said, we are each other’s family.  We have all chosen to make Grand Rapids our home and in many cases that means leaving our families of birth at a distance.  When we have a need we rely on each other, Merge – our family in Christ, to help us.  Sue was a sister in need.  I just did what any family member would do.  Merge Our son Eliott was born early Close-Up: Josh, at 29.5 weeks Anna & Eliott in May. After Warren passing on the good news to our Foundations class, the phone calls, visits, meals, and gifts began pouring in. We were so blessed to have so many people praying for us so early about Eliott’s birth. One of the many unexpected surprises was when we were blessed with several generous gas cards given to us by Foundations (our young adult class for married couples at Calvary) that helped with our daily trips for 60 days to visit Eliott in the NICU. We’ve been extremely blessed by the Calvary family th
