Serving & First
Impressions Team
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others,
faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. ” (1 Peter 4:10,
NIV).
Serving God and others is the key to our serving ministry and first
impressions teams at Calvary. “People matter to God, therefore they
must matter to us,” says Mark Waltz, author of First Impressions and
Lasting Impressions.
Our serving ministry seeks to involve the entire body of believers at
Calvary in serving in every facet of church life. The First Impressions
Team is intentionally involved in greeting and welcoming those who
attend, but especially new people at Calvary to make them feel welcome
and help them get connected. The First Impressions Team consists of the
Greeters, Welcome Team, Visitors Center (beginning September 11 this
will be known as The Connection
Point), Information Center and
Serving Fast Facts:
Café Greeters.

A recent note from an
attendee of the Explore Calvary
Class said, “I’ve attended Calvary
for about ten years, but really
didn’t feel connected. This class
was so helpful in knowing more
about Calvary and it was also
good to be able to meet some
of the staff. This is one thing
that usually doesn’t happen in a
large church. I would encourage
anyone that doesn’t feel connected
at Calvary to take this four-week
class.”
• 1,200 people on average are served
in the Café every Sunday morning.
