Irvine Police Lt. Mike Hallinan rappelled down a clock tower as part of a publicity
stunt to raise money for the Special Olympics. The gag netted more than $2,500.
He told the Orange County Register: “I don’t particularly like heights, but I
figured I could do this and face my fears because the Special Olympics athletes
do this every day.”
