Outstanding
Chapter
Ceres
FFA
Ceres FFA Chapter was the 38th Chapter
to be chartered in California. It is part of the TriRivers section in the Central Region. The Ceres FFA
Chapter has 200 members and is active within the
community.
Each year Ceres FFA organizes a “Trick Or Treat
For Cans“ at the end of October. It is a canned food
drive organized to help a local charity put together
holiday food baskets. The members spend about 5
hours walking door-to-door collecting canned goods
and explaining the purpose behind this community
service activity. To get into the Halloween spirit,
the students even dress up in costumes. It is a great
opportunity for the members to meet each other and
have fun with their friends after school while helping
the community.
Ceres FFA members operate a laying hen
operation on campus. This enterprise produces
brown and white eggs produced from Red
Sex-Linked and White Leghorns. Each day, the
Advanced Animal Science and Vet Science classes
collect, wash, candle, and package the eggs to sell
