wasco FFA Living To Serve Winter 2014 Edition Submitted by Noemi Esquivel, Chapter Reporter On June 28, 2014, five FFA members from the Wasco chapter attended Bakersfield Rescue Mission to pass out donated items to the community. The items were donated through the Wasco FFA’s annual Toys for Tigers campaign in the community. The members were able to discuss the Wasco Agriculture Program with those who attended the family day. Instead of dropping off the toys, the members personally passed out donated toys to each child there. The Executive Director of The Mission, said, “Having the Wasco FFA set up a booth and pass out toys to our families is a huge deal. It’s difficult to get donations of any kind during the summer months. This couldn’t have come at a better time for The Mission.” The students who participated learned that you can make an impact in lives by just doing simple things.
