North Coast
Region
This year the North Coast Region FFA
theme is Leading from the Heart! The officer
team started off their term with our retreat
near Tahoe in June, where we planned out
the activities for the year, went on our “6
AM 5k jog” (wink wink), and began our
team’s obsession with the game Mafia.
We had a blast at our annual Chapter
Officer Leadership Conference at Analy
High School in September, getting to
reconnect with many of our members. Our
chapter officers had the opportunity to
compete in our annual lip sync contest at
COLC, the teams blew us away with their
incredible dance moves and humor. The
officer team recently had our winter retreat,
which was full of planning for our spring
meeting, officer interviews, and of course
a little Mafia! We are looking forward
to the Spring Meeting and State Degree
ceremony at Livermore High in March!
The officer team has had an incredible
time serving the members of the North
Coast Region, and is excited to see what
incredible things our members will do!

As my Hamilton City chapter and I checked in
to the Made For Excellence conference, I didn’t
know what to expect. As we moved deeper into
the conference, I reached out where I normally
would have stayed still. I decided I wanted to
have the best time I could, not letting myself be scared by the
way I might have looked in a conga chain or volunteering to
answer questions in front of older piers. As I discovered my
strengths and became more confident in myself, people began to
notice. I saw the same passion come alive in ways like creating
a friendship with a state officer and being asked to write an
article for California FFA News! Looking back on my adventures
at MFE, I am zealous about the memories I made there and how
I discovered that we are all made for excellence. •
