San Joaquin
Region
The Mighty Mean San Joaquin Region has
chosen the theme of, “Our Jacket, Your
Journey, Our Legacy” for the 2013-2014
year. To ensure that all of the San Joaquin
Region members were ready for their
journey the San Joaquin Region hosted
the “San Joaquin Region Team Building
Boot Camp”. This was facilitated by the
Regional Officers along with the help of
the State Officers. Members were invited
from throughout the region to attend one of
two overnight sessions in August. This event
was held early in the year to ensure that
members could use the skills they learned
throughout the school year. The over two
hundred students at this activity participated
in workshops such as “Back-to-Back” in
which students had to work together with
their team to stand up simultaneously using
only support from each other’s backs.
Another activity students enjoyed taking
a part in was the “True Colors” workshop
presented by two chapter advisors from
the region. Students took a quick survey
and based on their personalities and were
given a color. The students then split up
to see what strengths they had to bring to
their team. As a result of this camp we look
forward to the legacy the members will
create!
